I thought I would inform you on the latest Covid19 Real Estate news so you know and understand what is going on during these strange times!
Last week the Provincial government designated Real Estate as an “essential service”. It is solid evidence that, if we didn’t already believe it with all our hearts, we are much needed to help people like you with one of the most fundamental purchases in their lives, a place to call home.
However, our fabulous Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, LOVE her, has made it clear that in-person meetings are only to be held when absolutely necessary and only if physical distancing & hygiene can be met. Our BC Real Estate Boards are totally in sync with Dr. Henry’s recommendations.
So what does this mean to you? It means we can list your home, or buy a new one, during this time as long as we follow strict behaviours and guidelines.
8 steps of safety if you are BUYING:
1) You MUST FIRST look at all on-line pictures/videos of the home, peruse all documents associated with the property and do a “drive-by” to check out the location and condition of the house.
2) If you think the home is a real contender for you after all the research you have pre-done, THEN I will book an appointment to physically view the home with you.
3) We must fill out a Property Access Form and send it to the listing agent.
4) When we show up at the property, we must wear gloves or keep our hands in our pockets. We are NOT allowed to touch anything in the home. I personally will wear a mask, if you have one, bring it and wear it.
5) Stay 6’ apart in the home and allow one person in a room at a time.
6) We will let the listing agent lead us through the home and have them open cupboards and doors.
7) When we leave the home, please be sure to use hand sanitizer or wipes.
8) If you do decide to proceed with an offer, we will do it on-line through “Docusign” to minimize our time together.
If you are SELLING, I will be sure to have all buyers and their agents follow this protocol to insure your house stays safe and healthy. Open Houses are RESTRICTED at this time.
